May 11, 2026 — The PPSA Class of 2026 cadets under the Bachelor of Science in Penology and Corrections Administration (BSPCA), led by 𝐅𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐓 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐀 𝐋 𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐎 (𝐑𝐞𝐭), Dean of Academics, under the leadership of 𝐅𝐒𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐓 𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐎𝐋𝐏𝐇 𝐕 𝐁𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐒, Director, rendered a courtesy call on the Ambassador of the Philippines to Malaysia, 𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐄𝐗𝐂𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐘 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐀 𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐋𝐀 𝐀. 𝐏𝐎𝐍𝐂𝐄, at Changkat Kia Peng, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. During the engagement, Her Excellency provided guidance on the cadets’ stay in Malaysia, received an overview of their foreign academic field study program, and conveyed her support for sustained collaboration and future engagements in the field of corrections and public safety.
In the same spirit of cooperation, they also paid a courtesy call on the Malaysia Prisons Department (MPD), headed by 𝐘𝐁𝐫𝐬. 𝐓𝐊𝐉𝐏 𝐇𝐚𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐳 𝐛𝐢𝐧 𝐎𝐭𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐧, Deputy Commissioner General of Prisons, together with the other key officers at the Malaysian Prison Headquarters in Kajang, Selangor. The visit allowed both sides to exchange overviews of the Philippine and Malaysian correctional systems, including policies, institutional frameworks, and rehabilitation initiatives, thereby fostering mutual understanding and professional linkages.
This activity holds significant relevance as it strengthens strategic relations and enhances international cooperation in corrections and jail management between the two institutions. It serves as a vital platform for promoting the exchange of expertise, experiences, and best practices in prison administration and rehabilitation, while broadening the cadets’ perspectives as future leaders in the corrections profession.
