June 12, 2026 – As part of their continuous development as future public safety officers, the BSFPA Class of 2026 successfully conducted its Advanced Firefighting Training, strengthening essential firefighting competencies through intensive hands-on exercises and realistic fireground simulations. The training provided cadets with valuable practical experience in fire behavior, fire suppression, situational awareness, and firefighter safety under dynamic emergency conditions.
During the training, cadets gained a deeper understanding of fire behavior through Live Fire Demonstration, learning how compartment fires can rapidly intensify when oxygen is introduced, emphasizing the dangers associated with opening doors and windows during structural firefighting. They also underwent Zero Visibility Training, where they practiced navigating environments where vision was completely impaired, relying on orientation, communication, and situational awareness techniques. Additionally, cadets trained in Gas Cooling and Penciling Techniques, essential interior firefighting skills used to control heat and fire gases, reduce flashover risks, and create safer conditions for interior fire attack and rescue operations.
This activity was facilitated by SFO2 Raymart De Guzman, SFO1 Fritz Perez, and FO1 Rey Mark Llegado, with the support of the Nuvali Fire Department led by Mr. Benjie Penus, under the supervision of Mr. Frank Diaz. The Philippine Public Safety Academy likewise extends its sincere gratitude to all partner provincial offices and fire stations for their invaluable support and for providing the firefighting equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) that contributed to the success of this training and the professional development of the BSFPA Class of 2026.
