“Audi alteram partem” – let the other side be heard as well!
The Philippine Public Safety Academy made history by being held Champion on its first attempt to participate in Philippine Inter-Academy Debate Competition.
Cadet 4C Brad A Phua (CIC, Debate Club), Cadet 4C Tianting Encabo, Cadet 4C Jhanel Muya, and Cadet 4C Fedijee Solis from the Philippine Public Safety Academy Moot and Debate Club, together with their coach, JO2 (Atty) Avelino P Cariño, emerged victorious for the 3rd Philippine Inter-Academy Debate (PIAD) championship between the Philippine Public Safety Academy (Government Side) and Philippine Military Academy (Opposition Side) held at Heroes Hall, PNPA with the motion “This house proposes for the reimposition of Death Penalty”. The competition was set in the Asian Parliamentary Format.
Philippine Public Safety Academy Moot and Debate Club’s success was further cemented by Cadet 4C Jhanel Muya as he was also hailed as Best Debater (PPSA) and at the same time, Cadet 4C Brad A Phua as the 2nd runner-up as Competing Adjudicator for the said debate competition.
This year’s Philippine Inter-Academy Debate Competition was participated by Cadets from four (4) prestigious service academies in the Philippines; Philippine National Police Academy (Host), Philippine Public Safety Academy, Philippine Military Academy, and Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific over the course of two days from the 25th to 27th of November. Despite the intense elimination rounds, cadets had the opportunity to showcase and refine their debating skills, forge new friendships, and explore the Philippine National Police Academy at Camp General Mariano N. Castañeda, Silang, Cavite.
On this day a true manifestation that PPSA is indeed building a “Culture of Excellence” was made.
To God be the glory!
