INCORPORATION RITES: The Historic Blue–Gray Line!
Winning, in every sense of the word, means being willing to go longer, to work harder, and to give more than anyone else will.
The Philippine Public Safety Academy (PPSA) Corps of Cadets stood with great pride and honor as it welcomed the 66 dauntless men and women of the PPSA “Madayawlahi” Class of 2025 as they were incorporated into the legendary blue-gray line.
On July 27, 2023, at the National Fire Training Institute Grounds, Camp Vicente Lim, Brgy. Mayapa, Calamba City, Laguna, the nation stood witness to the beginning of the cadets’ journey of becoming the future leaders of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP). Graced by PLTGEN RICARDO F DE LEON, (RET) Ph.D., Director General, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) as the Guest of Honor and Speaker, the ceremony symbolized the unification of the underclassmen to the upperclassmen.
After undergoing the 45-day breaking period, the new cadets will undergo a 2-year cadetship journey as they overcome bridges that others didn’t dare to cross, mountains that others didn’t attempt to conquer, and roads that only a gallant few risks to take. As Director General De Leon mentioned in his speech, PPSA has started to materialize the dreams and aspirations of its founders in connection with the country’s current administration agenda, “Bagong Pilipinas.” He then challenged the cadet corps as they prepare for their duties and responsibilities as future forerunners of their respective bureaus, thereby leaving an impact as they serve the nation. He also emphasized the key points that the cadets must possess; a disciplined heart, mind, and soul. Further, he also mentioned the practices that the academy observes as it leaves its trademark of a God-centered academy with its core values of courage, integrity, and service.
The Incorporation Rites known as the second “TION” signals a new chapter in the cadetship journey of the underclassmen, PPSA Class of 2025. Under the able supervision of the formation officers and the upperclassmen, the new cadets are now ready to accept the challenge of manifesting excellence in everything they do as they will be leaders of character, right values, and discipline that the nation shall soon bear witness to. They will become the new breed of cadets, the nation’s best and brightest, with no doubt or excuses.
