May 19, 2025 – Camp Vicente Lim, Mayapa, Calamba City, Laguna – The Philippine Public Safety Academy (PPSA) participated in the traditional Monday flag-raising ceremony led by the National Forensic Science Training Institute. This weekly tradition offers a meaningful opportunity for the personnel of the Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC), PPSA, CRIDEC students, and the Cadet Corps to reflect on their responsibilities and renew their commitment to public service.
The keynote message was delivered by PSMS Rodeline G Lagsac, who emphasized two core virtues for the week: spirituality and humility. She explained that spirituality is not confined to religion; rather, it is about connecting with something greater than ourselves, a deeper source of meaning and purpose beyond our daily lives. It involves recognizing the inherent dignity and value of every individual. On humility, she clarified that it is not a sign of weakness within an organization but a powerful trait, an openness to acknowledge our faults, learn from our mistakes, and grow. She concluded her message with a Bible verse from Proverbs 22:4: “The rewards of humility and the fear of the Lord are wealth and honor and life.”
The ceremony concluded with the awarding of the Dean’s List, Commandant’s List, and Director’s List to the exemplary performing cadets of the KADASIGAYON Class of 2026. This momentous event not only highlighted the values of spirituality and humility but also reinforced PPSA’s dedication to developing public safety officers grounded in academic excellence, integrity, and service, ready to meet the evolving demands of public safety in the nation.
