The Philippine Public Safety Academy (PPSA) together with the Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC) and its Constituent Units participated in the advocacy march during the launching of the 18-day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) on November 25, 2022, at Camp Vicent Lim, Calamba City, Laguna.
With the theme “UNitEd for a VAW-free Philippines,” the camp was filled with orange and purple strips, posters, and tarpaulins in support of the celebration and to create awareness about it. Furthermore, a Kick-Off Ceremony was also held at the NJMPTI Social Hall spearheaded by JCSUPT HILBERT M FLOR, Director of NJMPTI, with the Guest of Honor and Speaker, MS. MYLENE G. RONDINA, MPSA, Chief, Financial and Management Division/ Chairperson, PPSC GFPS-TWG. It was participated by personnel and students from PPSA, NJMPTI, NFTI, and NFSTI.
Included in the program are the Launching of “The Orange Exhibit: Journey Towards a Vaw-free Philippines”, NJMPTI Men Opposed to Violence against Women Everywhere (MOVE), #JuanaSays, and the distribution of IEC materials for the campaign.
The PPSA and the PPSC integral units look forward to more collaborative activities and benchmarks in ensuring that women, men, and members of the LGBTQIA+ feel safe wherever they may be.
