The members of PPSA Class 2025 successfully underwent the 5-Day BFP Skills Inventory Course at National Fire Training Institute (NFTI), Camp Vicente Lim, Calamba, Laguna on June 24-28, 2023.
As future public safety officers of the BFP and BJMP, the PPSA aimed to equip and incorporate Basic Rope and Rescue Training, Firefighting Techniques, and Emergency Medical Response to the 66 members of PPSA Class 2025. The said skills training was facilitated by NFTI Instructors to re-examine and revisit the skills of fire cadets and to introduce the aforementioned skills to the jail cadets.
For the first time, jail cadets were immersed in a glimpse of the actual demonstration of a variety of skills, which they eagerly anticipated and were then able to witness firsthand. Given that they were trained with particular abilities in line with their chosen field of career, these skills are unique to them.
Future public safety officers who will be exposed to the two lines of work from both bureaus will benefit greatly from these activities in terms of shaping and honing their skills. This activity also encouraged camaraderie and teamwork as fire cadets compassionately worked hand in hand with the jail cadets during the planning, conceptualizing, and demonstrating of each skill as jail cadets were on the frontline of every task.
