At the MDRRMO, under the leadership of Director Arnel Eustacio M. Angeles, the cadets gained firsthand insights into the cityโs proactive frameworks for disaster preparedness, rapid response, and recovery operations. They toured the command center, where they observed the agencyโs daily operations, coordination systems, and the advanced technologies used to monitor and ensure public safety. The visit also deepened their understanding of how local governance swiftly adapts and mobilizes in times of crisis.
The learning continued at the MMDA, where Deputy Chairman Usec. Frisco San Juan, Jr. led an in-depth orientation on the agencyโs metropolitan-wide programs on traffic management, flood control, and emergency response. The cadets also toured the MMDA Command Center, where they witnessed how the agency closely monitors areas through its advanced surveillance systems and digital communication technologies, enabling real-time coordination and swift disaster response across Metro Manila.
The visit came at a crucial time, as the country continues to face the challenges of natural calamities and climate-induced disasters, making the experience all the more relevant and impactful for the cadets. This visit is a powerful learning experience where the cadets saw the value of preparedness, quick decision-making, and community-centered service, principles that mirror the very essence of their training as future public safety leaders.
